Florida Dance Theatre

Florida Dance Theatre is Polk County’s first and only professional dance company and training academy. Now in our 27th year of operation, we provide quality dance entertainment, education and outreach to surrounding communities and beyond through performances, lecture demonstrations, workshops and special events. Through the additional artistry of guest choreographers, the company has built a reputation for artistic excellence and ingenious programming.  Florida artists along with professional dancers from around the United States, Russia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico have made Florida Dance Theatre a thriving, powerful, and positive arts organization dedicated to the highest quality in performance, instruction, and community education.  The training academy offers a curriculum of instruction in classical ballet, jazz, modern, and more.  The faculty of Florida Dance Theatre’s academy is drawn from the ranks of the professional company and other area professionals ensuring the students a credible source of insight and experience. Through the generous support of local, state and private funding, Florida Dance Theatre is fortunate to provide children with professional performance experiences through productions such as The Nutcracker, Peter Pan and The Golden Ticket, which have artistically aided in their cognitive and overall social development. Our continued purpose is to diversify the positive impact the arts have on the communities we serve in order to touch more lives.
